Photo Contest Details
The SACS-AAPT Physics Photo Contest is open to middle school students (grades 6-8) high school students (grades 9-12) and undergraduate college students attending school in the States of Georgia or South Carolina. The contest is seperate from AAPT's High School Physics Contest. When entering students must:
- send printed photo
- register on-line and send printed hard copy from the on-line registration.
- print out, sign, and return the Contest Rules and Entry Agreement, available in PDF, when submitting their entry. Failure to submit this form will invalidate the contest entry.
Entries from Middle and High School are limited to 15 per school each year.
Photos may be entered in one of three categories described below, and will be judged on the quality of the photo and the accuracy of the physics in the explanation that accompanies the photograph.
Categories
Natural photos are those that involve everyday situations that may demonstrate a variety of physics concepts. Any spontaneous event is considered natural.
Contrived photos are those that are set up to show a particular physics concept or related set of concepts. Contrived Photos represent non-spontaneous events.
Digitally Modified
are those that with multiple images or involve other computer manipulation. The photo should still accurately depict physics phenomena and must be based on a natural photo.
Judging
The photos will be displayed and judged during the Spring Meeting of SACS-AAPT. Please read the complete contest rules on the entry form before signing and returning it with your entry. Failure to abide by all rules will result in disqualification.
Entry Period
Entries are welcome anytime beginning August 1st and up to the March 1st deadline. Early entries are encouraged.

Submission Checklist
__ Photo (8 ½ x 11 inches or 8 x 10 inches) with no additional backing attached to the photo
__ CD containing a digital file (preferably jpg) of the photo.
__ Printed hard copy from the on-line registration
